  Bob was a 1947 graduate of Duluth Central. He earned a teaching degree from UMD before serving in the U.S. Army. He taught school for 32 years, from 1955 to 1987, majority of the years at Piedmont Elementary. In 1966, he was awarded Minnesota Teacher of the Year. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
